Praise and Worship

Worship begins with God, its all about God, and its for God.  Although music is a major part of worship, worship is more than music, more than singing.  It involves our entire relationship with God, all our heart, mind, soul, and strength – it involves all the ways in which we can respond to God, all the ways we can praise him by what we say and do, all the ways we can demonstrate that God is worthy of all praise and honor and allegiance.

The worship ministry is a ministry that we take very seriously because worship depends on the attitude of our hearts. He who has called us is holy and he desires that we be holy in all our conduct.  “Be holy, for I am holy.”  1 Peter 1:15-16.  We always have to be ready and prepared before we present ourselves before the Lord and aspire to be holy just as He has commanded us. God is not interested in religion, sacrifices, or rituals. He desires obedience, a broken and contrite spirit from us; Hearts that are focused on Him and Him alone.

God told Moses in Exodus 34:2- to prepare and be ready in the morning then go up the mountain to present himself to the Lord. And Moses did as the Lord commanded him. When Moses went up the mountain, The Lord came down in the cloud and stood there with him and proclaimed his name, the LORD. 6 And He passed in front of Moses, proclaiming, "The LORD, the LORD, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin.

After the Lord revealed Himself to Moses, Moses broke to worship. He bowed to the ground at once and worshiped. 9 "O Lord, if I have found favor in your eyes," he said, "then let the Lord go with us. Exodus 34:8. When we truly seek the Lord, He reveals Himself to us and then we get to comprehend how mighty and awesome He is and we can’t help but truly bow down and worship Him and His presence will then go with us. When Moses came back from the mountain, it was evident that He had been with the Lord because the glory of God was upon him and his face was radiant. Exodus 34:29-30.

By the grace of God, He has called us to serve Him as such a time as this. We desire to seek His face, kingdom, and righteousness first and He will reveal Himself to us. It’s not by power or might that we serve and worship Him but by the Spirit of God. He does not call the perfect but He perfects the called.  Our prayer and desire as a worship team, is to always worship God in truth and in spirit. If we abide in Christ He will abide in us and we will bear much fruit and fruit that lasts. If we lift up Jesus as we serve Him, He Himself will draw all men unto Himself that they may worship Him at the beauty of His holiness. All we desire is to see His glory and Him alone glorified. All to the glory and honor of His mighty name. May the Lord fill His temple with His glory!
