Disciples Fellowship International Church (DFIC) was started in September 2004 by in Gaithersburg, Maryland. It began as a Bible study group meeting in the pastor's home every Friday evening for about one year. Over the year, this group grew from 7 people to about 20 people and in September 2004, it was registered as a church and publicly launched its Sunday meetings at Say Brooke Middle School in Gaithersburg, MD.
The church has continued to grow and experience the blessings of God. It has multiplied greatly in the 8 years of her existence. In 2007, DFIC started a new church plant in Orlando, Florida; and in 2010, DFIC started another church plant in Baltimore, MD. DFIC believes in making disciples of Jesus Christ by reproducing through church planting. As someone rightly said, it's not the sitting capacity of a church that determines it's greatness and spiritual health but it's sending capacity. We want as a church to be spiritually vibrant and relevant in fulfilling the great commission. DFIC continues to grow as a local church and in the fulfillment of the great commission by our Lord Jesus Christ.
In addition to pursuing her calling of making disciples, DFIC has partnered with other like-minded churches and Christians to take the "fullness" of the gospel to Africa and the rest of the world by ministering to the needs (spiritual and material/physical) of many needy people.
In January 2009, DFIC relocated from Gaithersburg to Silver Spring, MD. The Lord graciously provided a facility through Colesville Baptist Church, to be able to do ministry with convenience. This is our current place of worship.
DFIC is affiliated with Montgomery Baptist Association and Baptist Convention of Maryland and Delaware.
